( Left with a name pinned to it, more or less, is a light green ribbon with a somewhat artistic red fox sewn into it. If Shen Jiu examines it, he'll find this ribbon is in fact warded: the warding is for protection/cleansliness, for the ribbon itself. Also a touch of energy storing capacity in the embroidered fox.
It's signed Lan Jingyi. No other note, nothing to quantify it, other than what's equivalent to throwing down a gauntlet, but Jingyi didn't forget how weirdly resigned Shen Jiu had been to being a Terrible Molester instead of hearing what had bothered Jingyi when the fox-spirit had touched his own ribbon.
[The color is what first catches Jiu's attention, prompting him to inspect what appears to be a ribbon left out here...with his name on it......he narrows his eyes at the signature in particular, frowning in what appears to be suspicion or displeasure (or both?) before looking around as if checking for any prying eyes, and then disappearing back into his room with his new prize.
When's the last time anyone ever gave him a gift...but why did he even get this gift? There's gotta be some reason behind it, right? But the ward is clearly harmless--
Why yes, he is in fact going to spend the rest of the morning mulling over how safe it is to accept this ribbon.]
